As a former military member and federal government leader in both Operations and Workforce Development organizations, I understand the demands on leaders, teams, and individuals working in complex, high stakes environments. I understand what it's like when you have the passion and skills to get the job done, but a lack of investment in leadership and interpersonal skills development causes needless, frustrating noise and hindrances to the important, critical work at hand.
I've also had the painful experience of being in a role that wasn't aligned well to my natural talents or my personal value. And I've watched teammates and clients suffer in one role then go on to thrive in another. I know deeply the courage it takes to make moves out of those spots to get into better ones.
